Now it’s only two months left to In Flame’s first annual festival, Borgholm Brinner, which takes place July 27 – July 28 at the historical Borgholm Castle Ruins on Öland. Now that the Swedish summer lurks around the corner, we are really excited to announce the final two acts of In Flame’s New Festival: Satyricon [NO] and Dark Tranquility [SE]!
In Flames singer Anders Fridén, about the latest additions:
“We are really excited to share with us the last bands that are now completing our festival Borgholm Brinner in July. We hope you welcome our brothers in Dark Tranquillity, we look forward to sharing the scene with them for the first time in several years, and also our friends in Satyricon. We are so excited to bring all the energy from all the artists on the lineup to such a unique atmosphere that Borgholm’s castle ruins have. It will be an unforgettable weekend! “
Satyricon is one of the most influential bands in Norway’s Black Metal wave during the 90’s. The Oslo band made the world aware of Norwegian Black Metal and since then has developed into a more traditional heavy metal sound at their latest release. Their ninth album was released late 2017 and was called a “game changer” by Blabbermouth, with a score of 9/10. We look forward to seeing what the two members Satyr and Frost are coming to Borgholm Brinner this summer!
Dark Tranquillity shares the hometown of the main act and the festival hosts In Flames and is considered to be pioneers in Gothenburg’s metal scene. With their melodic death metal the scene has been evolving since the late 80’s with Anders Fridén from In Flames as singer in the band for the first five years. The five current members (with the singer Mikael Stanne) have been touring around the world, played at the classic metal festivals and the big scenes with their eleven (!) Acclaimed albums to choose songs from. We are looking forward to another addition from Gothenburg to the Öland festival at the end of July!
