Unfortunately, we have been informed that Bullet For My Valentine is forced to cancel their upcoming show at Borgholm Brinner for personal reasons. This is of course sad news, but we are pleased to present one of Sweden’s most influential bands ever – REFUSED – as a replacement for the summer festival!
After forming in Umeå in 1991, Refused hit through the mid-nineties and with their third album The Shape of Punk to Come (1997) they created a certified classic. The hardcorepunk that the band became known for was mixed with influences from post punk, jazz and techno – along with political lyrics and messages. The Shape of Punk to Come is still considered one of the most influential punk releases in history. Last release from the band was celebrated Freedom (2016), and according to the report, members are now from time to time in the studio to record new material. With a constant desire to develop and reinvent themselves and their music, Refused has become one of Sweden’s most important bands, as well as a grand and explosive live experience, reaching new heights in the evening after evening.
See you 27-28 July for Borgholm Brinner in Öland!
