After just nine months of activity, Frequency Beer Works, the Bro-based brewery north of Stockholm founded by head brewer Mattias Hammenlind and metal titans In Flames vocalist Anders Fridén, have already made their mark on the Swedish beer scene. Such was the size of the mark that international beer site RateBeer recently named Frequency Beer Works “Best New Brewery” in Sweden. With the recurring musical references, both fans and beer lovers have found this world-class craft beer.
Together with their colleagues, Jenny Hammenlind, David Mortimer-Hawkins and John Tsihlis, they’ve released a number of beers with Stockholm Style IPA, Selling England by the Pint and session IPA ParkLife available at the Swedish alcohol monopoly. Stockholm Style IPA was awarded second best IPA at the Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, while Selling England by the Pint was awarded bronze in the modern ale category.
Frequency also produced one of the most spoken-about beers in 2017 with “Fxxk You, I’m MIllwall!”, a celebration of Roy Larner, the football fan who single handedly fought off the London terrorists.
